DS Impressions is a French large-format digital printing specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Operating from three production sites across Strasbourg, Paris and Lyon, and employing a team of over 60 people, the company serves clients who demand both volume and precision. Before investing in a new cutting solution, DS Impressions was facing a familiar challenge: production volumes were rising faster than their finishing capacity could absorb. The team was dealing with persistent bottlenecks in the cutting and finishing workflow, and their existing system simply could not keep pace with demand. The decision to invest was not taken lightly. After evaluating the available options, DS Impressions selected the Kongsberg Ultimate, with the Feeder and Stacker system identified as the defining advantage. The ability to run cutting and finishing in parallel, with the machine operating continuously while an operator handles stripping and packaging separately, transformed how the production floor functioned.

Today, the machine actually works on its own and the operator works separately on the manual part. As a result, there is much less downtime on the machine.

The CorruSpeed tool for cardboard cutting was another standout feature, delivering clean, precise cuts at speed and eliminating the extra handling that had previously added time and cost to every job: "It gives a really clean, crisp cut. In terms of speed, we obviously gain in productivity. As a result, we inevitably avoid extra handling, so we save on productivity time and logistics too."
