Don’t just arrive with a bottle in your hand. In this Inspired by Kongsberg video, our Application Specialist Frank Verlooy shows how to create a premium box designed to protect and pack a bottle of wine or champagne.
Produced on the Kongsberg C64 cutting table, the box is made from double E-flute corrugated board and includes internal separation to help protect the bottle. The result is not just packaging, but a box designed to be kept as a souvenir.
To produce the box, Frank uses the Dual Heavy-Duty Tool Unit with a 150 mm crease wheel featuring a six-point profile. For cutting, the project uses the CorruSpeed Tool, which is dedicated to corrugated cardboard. A special stainless steel cup is also used underneath to crush and prepare the material during production.
The structural design is imported into iPC software, where the creasing and cutting are prepared as separate layers. For this project, the production is run in reverse operation: first scanning the border and edges of the sheet, then turning the material and finishing the box from the inside.
