Awards are a great way to celebrate people, teams and achievements.
In this Inspired by Kongsberg video, our Application Specialist Frank Verlooy demonstrates how to create a nice and shiny award from 8 mm acrylic at the Kongsberg Customer Experience Center in Ghent, Belgium.
Using the versatile Kongsberg X24 table with the MultiCUT-HP tool head, Frank shows how the award is engraved, cut and polished with precision. The project uses a dedicated engraving bit, an acrylic cutting bit and a diamond polishing bit to create clean text engraving, accurate cutting and polished edges.
To make sure the awards arrive in perfect shape, the project also includes a printed shipping box and a protective inlay made from sustainable paperboard honeycomb. The inlay is cut with an oscillating knife, while the box is produced using a 60 mm Crease Tool with a special profile and the dedicated CorruSpeed Tool for corrugated cardboard. All files are prepared in iPC software, helping the complete production process run smoothly from award creation to protective packaging.
