January 19, 2024

Andrés Pérez Moctezuma is a Sales Representative for Care Plans and is located in Ghent, Belgium.

Andres Perez Moctezuma1. What is your role at Kongsberg PCS?
I handle the sales and administration of the Care Plans in Iberia, France, Benelux, and Eastern Europe.

2. What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
There are several aspects, but if I must choose one, it would be dealing with different cultures and languages every day. It is a great learning experience.

3. What has been your favorite project at Kongsberg PCS?
Since joining the company, there have been several projects, as is typical in a growing company. One project I have particularly enjoyed is updating contracts that were outdated. It has been a lot of work, but seeing the results has been very gratifying.

4. If you could switch your job with anyone else within Kongsberg PCS, whose job would you want?
I think the colleagues at the demo center do a fantastic job. I would probably change places with them because of the creative and teaching aspects of the job. However, I believe a great personality is required for that role, and I have to work on that.

5. How did you get started in the business?
I studied visual arts at university back in my home country, Mexico. When I moved to Belgium 7 years ago, I started a job that gave me a lot of experience in sales. Years later, seeking a change, I applied for a job in the marketing department at Kongsberg, but I didn’t get it. Instead, I was offered a job selling Care Plans due to my sales experience. It was a new product, a new company, a new challenge, so I took it. I am grateful I was offered this job because it ended up being a great learning experience, combining several skills: sales, administration, languages, customer interaction, etc.

6. How would you describe the company culture at Kongsberg PCS?
It's very open, understanding, and truly committed to maintaining a personal-life/work balance for the employees.

In the last year, I started many hobbies, including MTB, racing bikes, bouldering, and a bike repair course. I will soon start swimming lessons (yes, I don’t know how to swim properly yet). But my true passion is having daddy-daughter play dates.

8. What is your favorite quote or personal mantra?
"Treat others as you want to be treated."

9. What is the best advice you've ever received?
A manager of mine said this when I mentioned wanting to become a manager one day: "Not everyone thinks like you, behaves like you, or needs what you need. Take the time to talk to people and learn who they are. Everyone is different and unique." I apply this not only in my job but also in my personal life. It's the best advice ever.
