Meet the team - Maria Seibeck
February 26, 2024
Maria Seibeck is Aftercare Coordination Team Leader and is located in Gent, Belgium.
1. What is your role at Kongsberg PCS?
I lead the Case Coordination Team in our Service department.
2. What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
Customer Support is what I love to do, and I have the privilege of leading a group of very qualified and engaged people. Everybody works hard to get the job done, every day. And the challenge of dealing with such a variety of different languages and cultures makes it even more interesting.
3. What has been your favorite project at Kongsberg PCS?
Working to guide and integrate a new member of my team following the takeover of another company. It showed me that leading people is something I am passionate about. Seeing them develop and succeed is hugely fulfilling.
4. If you could switch your job with anyone else within Kongsberg PCS, whose job would you want?
Definitely Field Service. I would like to have hands-on experience working with our machines, seeing what they can do in a live production area, talking with customers about their expectations, their experiences, improvements they have benefited from and their wishes for the future.
5. How did you get started in the business?
I stayed in Belgium after completing an internship as part of studying for diploma, at an institute in Leipzig, Germany. I worked in temporary positions for two other companies in Belgium after that, also in Customer Service. Then I was lucky when Kongsberg PCS was looking for a German-speaking case coordinator, for a permanent position. Since I got the job, I have been here almost 10 years now.
6. How would you describe the company culture at Kongsberg PCS?
Everybody is welcome and welcoming! Our team is very open-minded. All the different departments are working closely together, and we know each other very well. Work-life balance is a topic we do not worry about at Kongsberg PCS, because it is something the company insists on.
7. Outside of work, what’s your passion?
My passion is my family. I have three kids and we do a lot out in nature. Playing football, riding our bikes, going for a swim. And most importantly, taking time out and going on a long vacation abroad during the summer.
8. What is your favorite quote or personal mantra?
If plan “A” does not work – do not panic. The alphabet has 25 other letters.
9. What is the best advice you've ever received?
Do not forget to think about the other person's perspective on a matter that is discussed/argued. It helps you move forward to succeed.
