tool Position

Foam Cutting Unit

Dedicated C Series position for cutting a wide range of foam materials.

Foam materials

What is it used for

The Foam Cutting Unit is a dedicated tool position on the Kongsberg C Series, built for cutting a large range of foam materials up to 50 mm thick, commonly used in protective packaging. Its reciprocating knife, combined with precise Z-axis control, ensures consistent partial cuts. Support wheels apply pressure on the foam, improving cutting performance while protecting the operator from sharp blades.
‍
Important difference between series: on Ultimate, there is no separate Foam Cutting Unit position. The same Foam Knife Tool mounts in the Heavy-Duty Tool Position instead.

  • High-speed cutting of a wide range of foam materials
  • Large selection of specially designed blades
  • Support wheels stabilize material during cutting
  • Dedicated position on C Series, so it doesn't tie up the Heavy-Duty or Fast Tool position
